November

I finally finished school yesterday so I finally have time to update this sad blog of mine. Its been a crazy life the past couple months but somehow we survived and made it through alive. Now I have 3 weeks off school to relax, even though I'm still working it'll be a huge. I plan on sleeping in everyday and I don't even care!

In November I went to the Breaking Dawn 2 midnight premier with some friends. Yes we are nerds but we do it just to have some fun time together.

{November 17}
I ran another 5K with my mom. It was the turkey trot and I even got a sweet shirt out of it.

This little sweet Nephew of mine was also born in November and I just can't get enough of him he is so cute just like his sisters. I love being an Aunt.
Reed and I got a few days of for Thanksgiving break and it was amazing. I didn't study at all and spent some time with this guy instead. We had a shooting date one afternoon and shot at one of our old roasted corn signs for target practice.
For Thanksgiving Reed had a bunch of family in town which consisted of many game nights. One night we got together for a volleyball tournament and ended it with a heated match of 4 square. It was a good time like always.
I got to help my mom make some of her famous homemade turkey noodle soup. Its seriously my favorite part of the holidays. I look forward to her soup more than Thanksgiving dinner itself.
The last weekend of November we participated in a dodge ball tournament again. It was super fun and I was super sore afterwards. I need to get out more so this doesn't happen. It was so much fun and we barely came in second. We barely lost to a couple heated matches but you have to give us credit the team we lost to were scary. Two of the guys on the other team were college pitcher over 6 ft tall and could chuck that ball super hard. Most of their team were college athletes so I was happy with our outcome.
And just in case you want to know just how serious we are about our dodgeball I'll leave you with this picture....
Don't mess with us we mean serious business.

Recent Happenings

After this semester started it seems like we are busy all the time, but every once in a while we find some time to squeeze some fun things in. Not as much as I'd like but heck we can't complain.

Last Weekend {Sat Oct. 13} I ran a 5k race with my mom. Luckily I had her to keep me going because I wasn't in shape at all but we made it. My mom is amazing for taking up running and I think she did awesome. I was the one breathing hard not her.

Reed went to Utah to do another Tough Mudder. This is a finish photo of Reed, Preston, Derek, and Shawn. They had a blast as usual.

This weekend we entered into Farmington's annual kickball tournament. We had to play a few games with our famous staches.
We had a blast and yep that's right our team won again! This year it was a close call but we pulled through and won a $200 giftcard to Three Rivers.

It was nice to do something fun on a weekend instead of studying the whole time. We are half way through the semester which means Reed is almost done! We are for sure looking forward to it and hoping things will calm down in our life

Road Apple Rally

This past weekend Reed did a 30 mile mountain bike race with his brother Shawn. He completed in in 2 hrs and 7 minutes. I was super impressed especially since he hardly even trained. He got 4th in his age group but said next year the other guys better watch out. I married such a stud.

Reed's Birthday

Last Wednesday (Sept. 19th) was Reed's birthday. Wednesday's are the busiest day of the week for us so we didn't get to spend much time together but we made our time worth while. We woke up bright and early before school so Reed could open his presents. You can tell by this picture that Reed just rolled out of bed.

I'm so lucky to be married to this amazing, dorky, handsome husband. It amazes me how perfect we are for each other. He definitely does complete me and as time goes on things only get better.
After class we ate lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, Bernardone's. Nothing beats some good Italian food! He doesn't like me taking pictures of him in public, but I do anyways!
After all our church meetings we went to the late show. I was feeling it the next morning but I couldn't say no on Reed's birthday, as long as I got some popcorn and coke.
We haven't got to spend much time together and do many fun things lately because we have been so busy with school, work, church and life but we managed to find a little bit of time. Its not about quantity its about quality. :)

Labor Day Weekend

For Labor Day weekend Reed and I got to work. We roasted corn at the Totah Festival, a pow wow they have every year here in Farmington.
This is me doing my corn dance and because of it yes we sold many corns.
We were able to play a little bit though. We went to Aztec Speedway and saw some races. It was pretty cool I've never been there before.
On Monday we went to Cascade Falls again with some more friends. The water was still as cold as ever!

Last Hurrah

Reed and I decided to do something fun for our last weekend before school started. We headed to Colorado Friday afternoon after work. Reed and I went to a little pizza place we heard was good. It was a interesting place that's for sure. There was one dollar bills all over the walls, not exactly sure why. When we asked them what the story was they gave us markers and a staple gun to add to the collection, so we did :)

We woke up super early Saturday morning to hike Engineer mountain between Durango and Silverton. We have been before but it was in the dark so it was a different experience since we could see. :)

After our hike we went to Purgatory to mountain bike with Reed's brothers. They take you to the top on the lift and there are different trails you ride down. It was super fun.

After a long day of mountain biking we headed to cascade falls to cool off. I didn't jump in this time but hiked down to the last fall instead to just watch.
It was a fun jam packed weekend but it was worth it and we had so much fun. Now its back to real life since school started Monday and it is going to be busy!

Doors of Tallinn

I finally created this collage of the doors of Tallinn, Estonia from our trip. I fell in love with the doors there the minute we got into town. I didn't realize how many cool pictures I got and I didn't even use them all. I wonder what else was there that we weren't able to see.
I still think about our trip often and the cool things we were able to experience. It definitely was worth the time and money we spent going. I'll never forget the people I met and the things I felt. I'm a big believer that everything happens for a reason, whether or not we choose to learn and grow from our experiences is up to us. Just remember when one door closes another opens :)

Potato Lake

{Friday July 6}
Our new destination is a place called Potato Lake between Silverton and Durango. Reed's two brothers and nephew joined the crew. It was a short but pretty hike.

The main thing Reed wanted to do this weekend was to catch some delicious fish. At Highland Mary's he left his bait (worms and marshmellows) outside the tent and some animal came and stole them. Reed got some more bait for Potato Lake to catch some serious fish.
He fished all day and I was seriously bored, fishing is not my favorite sport. I took a nap. Took a walk around the lake. Went on a little hike. Took a swim in the lake and Reed still hadn't caught anything. I went over to the boys fishing to see what the problem was. I convinced Reed to let me try. It only took two casts and I had a fish! haha Reed wasn't too happy about that one. He continued to try all night and still didn't get anything where just about everybody else did.

So Reed cooked up my fish instead :)
Reed got up bright and early the next morning and caught 4 fish. Or so he says nobody actually saw them :)
We left Potato Lake for one more adventure for the weekend... Cascade falls. A place where you go waterfall jumping in the most freezing cold water! But it was awesome and so worth it.
More to come on that later... But it was an awesome fun filled weekend!
