Reed's Birthday

Yesterday was Reed's 25th birthday. We had a great day together and Reed got some good presents, from me of course :) We didn't get to do anything super special because he had to go to school all that day and that night my little bro came home. {post on that later} However this weekend we are going to celebrate and have some fun like we do best.

Isn't he the cutest 25 year old you've ever seen? I sure think so!

Date Night

{Friday September 9}
On Friday Reed really wanted to go see the movie Contagion, he really likes Matt Damon. I said okay but as long as he took me out to dinner before the movie. Well instead of dinner we first went golfing. Then instead of dinner again we went and played ultimate frisbee. Well ultimate frisbee didn't turn out so well. I was trying to block a throw and took a frisbee to the chin that resulted in this..

My first set of stitches! Yep crazy huh, I now have 4 stitches in my chin and Reed calls me stitch face. I guess I deserve it because I called him dipstick when he had his accident. We made it in time to go to the movie and had Sonic on the way, I guess he still took me out to dinner just not what I had in mind. The movie however stunk, not the best date we had in mind.

Highland Marys

This weekend Reed and I went on a hike past Silverton called Highland Marys. We left Friday morning and stayed the night and came home Saturday afternoon. It is about a 2 1/2 mile hike there which isn't too bad but its uphill so it makes it a little tougher. It was so pretty and that's why there is a overload of pictures.

 Reed took his fishing pole to try some fishing. There was tons of fish jumping everywhere but he didn't catch anything, but we saw a guy there that caught a ton and he was using marshmallows. So next time we know the secret.

We hiked to the top of this ridge to get a good view of the whole place. Our tent is all the way down between the two lakes.

 We had tons of fun being there and only saw 2 other people while we were there. It was a great hike and a great weekend with my love.

Cali 2011

On Monday {August 15, 2011} after the fair was over we took off to Cali for one last vacation before school starts. We decided to start our vacation off with a bang by going to The Price is Right on Tuesday Morning. We woke up at 4:30 AM drove an hour to the show and waited and waited in line. We made it through security, had our paperwork filled out, got our famous name tags and were all hyped up ready to go on the show (it was noon by now). Then after all this time waiting the producers of the show come out and say Drew Carey hurt his shoulder and the show had been canceled. Ugh talk about upset!

BUT we didn't let it ruin the rest of our trip.. We had extra fun instead!

Friday morning we rented bikes to ride around Newport Beach pier and rode them across the ferry to Balboa Island.

Tandem Love <3

On the way back Reed's mom and sister wanted to try out the tandem so Reed got to ride a girl's pink bike. :)

A cali trip wouldn't be complete without a little smash ball.

A week wasn't long enough but it was a fun week of going to the beach everyday. Reed got some good boogie boarding in and my tan is looking pretty good :) It was an awesome week just in time for school to start.

One Last Trip

Last week Reed and I were doing corn at our county fair and it was a rough, long, tiring week! But it was all worth it because this week...

We are spending our time in California!

Next week school starts so we are getting one last big vacation in before we are to busy to do anything, and spending all day at the beach is sooo nice!

Family Reunion

{July 28-30}
A couple weekends ago Reed and I went to a family reunion for Reed's side of the family in Vallecito Colorado. Reed's parents have 17 grand kids (plus one grand-dog:) under 9 and they were all there except for one. There was never a dull moment with that many kids around. We were constantly on the go playing games, going to the lake, playing some more games, it was so much fun. I don't have many pictures yet so these will have to do.

It was so nice spending time in the mountains for a few days with some family that we don't get to see very often.

Bar-D

{Tuesday July 26, 2011}

Last week I went to the Bar-D with some family. Reed missed out on the fun because he was out of town with his brother. We had a competition of who could find the best outfit thrift store style. Paige and I hit up the thrift stores earlier that day and we were super proud of what we found from shirts down to our sweet boots.

It sure was a funny, fun night!

Sleepover

A couple weeks ago Reed and I had a sleepover with these 3 lovely ladies.. Of course we had to make some smores with our fire pit in our back yard.

After we all were stuffed we ended our night snuggling on the couch and watched a movie.
Spending time with family is the best.

Engineer Mountain

After a whole day of corn roasting and also after running a 5k with my mom, some of our family talked Reed and I into going on a night hike. We left Farmington at about 8 pm to
Engineer Mountain past Purgatory. The sunset was so pretty on the way there.

We got to the trail head at about 10:30. All ready to roll!

The hike was a little over 4 miles round trip but it was a steep hike that's for sure we went up over 2,000 ft in elevation. We all had fun but were so tired especially when we all crawled into bed at 4 am. But it was a blast and next time we will go in the day so we can actually see the view. :)
