Summer 2014

Our summer was great this year! I had summer school for part of the summer but had a good little break so that left plenty of time for us to play!

The beginning of the summer we went kayaking with our friends Sarah and Phil and their family at Jackson lake in Mancos, CO.
 We met up with our friends Todd and Alisha in Greenriver to hang out.

 Took a couple hikes to some arches in the area. This post here is the hikes I went on with my Mom.
Some of my crazy cousins came to visit for my grandma's 85th birthday party and a few of us got to go hiking while they were here.

Of course we roasted a bunch of corn. This one was in Monticello, UT for their Pioneer Days Celebration.
This was the Totah Festival at the Civic Center in Farminton.

The end of July we went to Dallas Texas and got to visit Preston and Jess. While we were there we went to a Yankees vs. Rangers baseball game.

Also had a blast at 6 flags! We went on so many crazy rides my head was killing me by the end of the night.

The beginning of August we took a trip to Utah with Reed's dad to visit the Millers and see their cute new house.

Since we didn't participate in the fair this year we were able to go to a few Connie Mack games with some friends.
 Our ward Hawaiian luau, with our friend's BriAnna and Steve's baby :)
A couple weeks ago we went to a Dustin Lynch concert with our friends Megan and Anthony here in Farmington. It was a blast too and I think I have a slight crush on Dustin Lynch now. :)
Overall it was a great summer. Its always sad to see summer end but this is my last 2 semesters of school so yipee for that!

Engineer Mountain

 {September 13, 2014}
We had a little family camping get together at Haviland Lake near Durango, CO a couple weeks ago. During our get together we decided to take a stroll up Engineer Mountain. However it was anything but a stroll. Reed and I have been up Engineer a couple times but we have never been to the very top because it can be quite sketchy and we weren't completely sure which way to go. But this time we made it to the tip top! We tracked a little over 6 miles, 2500 ft in elevation gain reaching a total of 12,973 ft at the summit. It was a beautiful day for a hike!

Starting to get super steep. From this point on it feels like it is straight up but the views just get better and better.

He is just a little insane.

Right about here it got a little scary and I was worried about getting back down on the way back. The rocks were pretty slick to hold on to and this is where I contemplated my life and thought about turning around.
But this crazy guy right here told me to keep going... so I did.

Finally made it to the top!

Definitely worth it! Feels like you are on top of the world and can see for forever!

Part of the crew {Bryce, Jess, Preston, Adam, Paige, Reed and I}
Sure do love this crazy man!

Definitely cool to officially check that one off our bucket list! And definitely a beautiful sight to see.
