Long Overdue Update

Wow so I'm the biggest blog slacker in the world. What can I say things have been pretty crazy lately. Between moving in our house and working on it this summer then starting school in August, I haven't had much time to blog. So here are some things we've done since the last post...

We were able to go on a few hikes this summer. This arch is past Aztec and was pretty cool to see. Especially since it is so close to home.

Made some progress on our bathroom as well. It is done but just needs some finishing touches like painting and caulking. Maybe someday I'll finish it so I can post some pictures. It's awesome though and we love it.
Survived another year at the fair, despite all the crazy rain we got this year.
I got my first black eye at a family reunion on a slip and slide. It made a good story but I sure got some funny looks.

I started school and I couldn't be more excited about it. It's hard but I love it and get more excited the more we learn.

My studly husband decide to try out a triathlon in Santa Fe with his friend. He loved it and got 3rd in his age group. He thinks he wants to do some more because he liked it so much. Me, I'm really good at watching. :)

While we were in Santa Fe we went hiking with Reed's sis Meshan to Tent Rocks Monument. It was a cool place to see and fun to get out.

The next weekend Reedo did a 30 mile mountain bike race here in Farmington. He completed it in 2 hrs 1 min. He did so awesome! He got first in his age group and 3rd overall. (minus the pro category)

Last week we decided to go for a drive to find this pumpkin patch that Reed found while he was working. To call it a pumpkin patch is an understatement. It was cool to see that many pumpkins.

We are doing great, staying busy and loving life.

Home Improvement

As I promised here are some pictures of our House. This is what it looked like the day we moved in. Just a mess. I didn't want to put things away right away because we planned on doing some work on our house.
Reed was out of town for work the first week we lived in the house so as soon as he got back we got to work by tearing up the carpet in the living room and hallway. The owners before us had cats and we weren't fans of the smell it left behind. We eventually want to re carpet the bedrooms just not right now.
Then we got to work by laying our laminate flooring. Reed did an awesome job and it went pretty fast. Despite he only had a few hours after work each night.
But it turned out pretty awesome!
Once we painted and got some nice new trim up it looked and smelled like a whole new house.
We now have furniture in our house but I need to do a few more things before I post some after pictures.
The next project we started on was adding another bathroom. This house is a 4 bedroom 1 bath house. We definitely wanted a bathroom in our room and there was space for it since we had two walk in closets.

This is what the closet looked like before. The previous owners wanted to put a bathroom in here and had it partially plumbed but never went through with it so we got to work right away and got our bathroom going. It looks pretty small and it isn't huge but it will be perfect for us and will be just the right size for this home.
It kinda looked like this for a while and was a huge mess.
But we slowly made progress. This is the ceramic tile we choose that looks like hardwood floors. We absolutely love it and Reed did an awesome job for his first tiling job. He did this floor in one day while I was passed out after getting my wisdom teeth out.
...and this is what our shower is looking like now. We also added that new window, it needed it for sure.
We have a few things left to do in the shower and then we will be able to put the toilet and vanity in. Reed has been gone a lot for work so we haven't been able to get things done as fast as we'd like but we are getting there.

Reed had training in Denver last week and I was able to go with him and hang out and shop. We had lots of fun and we went to IKEA and got some furniture for our bedroom and living room. We are super excited to finally have a house of our own and put our time and money towards something that is ours. More pictures coming soon...

March.April.May

Okay I've been the worst blogger ever! A lot has been going on with us lately, and that means a lot of good. We have been so blessed the past few months that we've been so spoiled. Things never happen when you want them to, but when they are supposed to. This has been a hard lesson for us to learn but we are learning to go with the flow. Anyways, here is some of our recent happenings.

In March we took Livi and Clara sledding with us with our ward. They had a blast, especially Livi. Uncle Reed would take her down on a sled and she would lay on his back and hold on for dear life and they cruised down the mountain. I would be scared if I were her but she loved it. She later told her mom that her and uncle Reed were going so fast that they were almost on fire.

Reed saw a picture online as I was looking at pinterest and said "Why don't you do your hair like that, that looks so easy I could even do it." So I said prove it and lets just say it did not turn out like the picture at all. But he gave a good try. :)

A month ago Reed started a new job which he absolutely loves! It is pretty much his dream job and he couldn't be happier, which makes me happy for him. He loves what he does and who he works with. Its been a long time coming but he is finally where he wants to be.

Then in April I found out I was accepted into the Dental Hygiene program for the fall! Woo hoo! Its going to be a tough two years but it'll be worth it!

The beginning of May we had a yard sale and sold lots of stuff and most of our furniture because....

On May 10 we signed on our first house and moved in a couple days later!
The house didn't NEED any work done just only things we wanted to do. We started working right away and I'll post pictures soon of our progress.

V-day

Nothing to special went on for our V-day. Reed being the best husband ever made a special delivery to my office with these goodies!

Untitled

Yes that is flowers, coke and donuts! He even wrote me a special poem. I was so excited I already ate two donuts by the time I could take a picture, just kidding my co-workers ate them.
I sure do love my husband and he sure knows me well. We both worked late that night so we didn't do anything but we went to a movie that weekend instead. Not much else going on around here just staying busy eating coke and donuts!

January

Our New Years was pretty low key. Reed worked up until Midnight and got home right after the stroke of midnight to come home and give me a new years kiss. We got to celebrate by drinking Martinelli's in these sweet glasses I got from one of my friends for my birthday. We would put them in a China cabinet if we had them but we are saving them for all our fancy dinners we may have in the future.

The 4th we put our boots on and went to a Rodeo at McGee park. It was good entertainment and got to see some cool bull riders. The whole time we dreamed of being a cowboy and a cowgirl and owning a huge ranch. That is our dream to someday own a bunch of land with animals and such. Someday...

Reed finally shaved his man beard off. He left a stache for a total of... 5 minutes, then realized how ridiculous he looked and shaved it off. I'm married to such a nerd, but I sure do love him!
The next weekend the 12th we took a trip to this place with the youth in our ward. Its always a good day going to the temple and getting the refreshing feeling again.
The next weekend we had ABC 20/20 come to our living room for an interview to be aired at a later date, which we aren't sure of yet. It took them 3 hours to set up the cameras! Crazy huh but they got it all done and over with and it was a good time. It is for a show about things that survive the human body. Pretty much they are all crazy survival stories and I, well survived eating my ring and I lived to tell about it. ha
To end our month I just wanted to add a picture of me walking our dog, Rudy. Yes he is just running beside our car. I was going just the next street over to get something from Reed's mom's house so Rudy just went for a little walk with me, yes I know I'm lazy.
